For the love of branding...
The key to all of this (apart from a wonderful gin) was to have a branding that we were besotted with. We knew what we wanted, however, trying to put it all down on paper was a story in itself.
"Hustle" was not the first idea that came to us, it took many months of soul searching to really find a meaning to our gin. And there it was, it came all at once: to work hard, do what ever it takes, be determined, to "hustle hard, but stay humble" to achieve our dreams in life.
Our purpose then to inspire others to realise their potential, step up and step out, and be bold. It was a beginning and we were in love...
Blue: the colour of hope and inspiration, the reminder of blue skies, and deep blue oceans and sunny days...
Gold: Symbolising wealth.
Art deco design: Art Deco was a time of influence, fine craftsmanship, representing glamour, exuberance, luxury, exotic, rare and expensive, this to be reflected in our branding.
And thanks to the wonderful Nikitta who came up with our design and patiently helped us through countless hours of tossing things out and re-working our design.
Our first bottle was clear with gold and blue artwork - stunning, beautiful, but lost on the shelf.
A visit to the glass factory months later, and there was the blue we wanted on the shelf - the exact blue we had chosen but now we could have the bottle in the colour that made our hearts sing! So it was back to square one, re-design, many times until it was perfect: our glorious blue bottle...
"Hustle" was finally born.
