nikkita Palmer designs

At Nikkita Palmer Designs we are an absolute hub of creativity and love to get involved in projects especially with local small businesses which is why we were thrilled when Philippa and Laura got in touch back in May 2017 to discuss the branding of their new gin, a topic which I have a particular love for.

After initially meeting Philippa and Laura I was super inspired by our conversations, the possibilities of this new, local gin and particularly by the name ‘Hustle’. As a young, self employed business owner, it was inspiring to work with such energetic and determined ladies and this only pushed the power behind the branding which we began to work on immediately.

After a few days of spiralling ideas around my mind, I had discovered an amazing thread in the brand, the theme and the idea behind this gin and I wanted to incorporate it into the history of us strong, independent women.

Meeting with the girls again, we decided on a thread of the 1920’s, when women first won the vote and an era of beautiful pattern, geometrics and art deco wonder! With a background in Textile Design from my (not so long ago) degree days, I have always been a lover of pattern and got straight to work on initial ideas, themes and feels of the brand.

From here the branding continued to grow, with numerous meetings, designs, colour ways and gin tasters at 9.30am, we gradually tweaked the design to the sleek and stylish finished bottle. As a creative I absolutely loved working on helping to build the brand of Hustle, something I will continue to be proud of each and every time I see it. As Hustle continues to grow, I very much look forward to seeing it’s follow up flavours and on the shelves of the country’s most beautiful deli’s and independent shops.
